Ingredients

 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
 1 tsp ground cinnamon
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 ¼ tsp salt (optional)
 1 dash cayenne (optional)
 2 cups walnuts (chopped, halves, or pieces)

Directions

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and cayenne (if using) to a medium-size bowl.

Mix well.

Add the walnuts and stir until all of the walnuts are coated in the maple mixture.

Bake for 15 minutes, remove from the oven and toss so they evenly bake.

Bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool. They get crispier as they cool.
