Ingredients

 1 cup organic rolled oats
 4 cups water
1 tsp vanilla extract (preferably alcohol-free)
 ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
 1 pinch salt (optional)

Directions

1

Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender.

2

Start by blending on low then increase speed to high. Blend until smooth or for 1–2 minutes.

3

Taste for additional flavors of choice like cinnamon, salt, or sweetness (see Chef’s Notes below).

4

Strain the milk by adding it to a nut-milk bag or a fine sieve. (Use the remaining oat pulp in your morning oatmeal!)

5

Pour milk into a 32-ounce mason jar or two 16-ounce jars. Use within 5 days.

Chef's Notes

Make it creamier
Use one less cup of water.

Add 1–2 tablespoons of tahini or almond butter (just know that it will also take on those flavors).

Make it sweet
Add 1–3 pitted dates or a bit of date paste for some natural sweetness.

If planning to use this in recipes
Consider omitting the ground cinnamon and vanilla extract so it has a more neutral flavor unless you’re planning to make sweet instead of savory dishes.
