Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Add all ingredients except for the pecans in a medium-size bowl. Mix well.
Add the pecans to the bowl and mix well.
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread out the pecans evenly.
If desired, sprinkle just a little touch of salt over pecans. You could also add a little more maple, cinnamon or spice at this point if you especially love particular flavors.
Bake for 15 minutes, tossing/turning the pecans halfway in between baking to ensure even baking.
Remove from the oven and let cool. They'll get crispy as they cool.
Chef's Notes
Substitutions
Walnuts, pistachios, or some combination of the three nuts would be delicious!
Sugar-free
Use orange juice in place of the maple syrup, and note that the final result might be less crispy.
Make it spicy
Before baking, sprinkle a dash of cayenne pepper on top of the pecans.
How to use them
Eat a handful as a snack by themselves.
Sprinkle them on top of salads.
Top roasted vegetables with them.
Enjoy on top of a sweet potato.
Bring them as a snack to your next virtual social gathering.
