Turmeric Tahini Sauce

Summary

There’s more to turmeric than its bright, cheery color! Research shows that the compound that gives turmeric its color, curcumin, may have the potential to fight inflammation, depression, and heart disease. This sauce is super versatile (see Chef’s Notes below for ideas!) and is the perfect vehicle to get in a dose of turmeric to help maintain overall health.

Turmeric tahini sauce

Ingredients

 ¼ cup tahini
 ¼ cup water
 3 tbsp lemon juice (preferably freshly squeezed)
 1 tsp dried ground turmeric
 ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  tsp garlic powder
 2 dashes ground cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions

Add all ingredients except for cayenne to a high-speed blender.

Blend until smooth.

If desired, add 1–2 dashes of cayenne and blend again.

Chef's Notes

Make it a dressing
Add 2–4 more tablespoons of water to make it a thinner consistency for a salad dressing.

How to use this dressing or sauce
Dip oil-free sweet potato fries in it.

Serve as a vegetable dip.

Include on a sandwich or wrap.

Pour over a grain bowl.

Storage
Store in the refrigerator for 7–10 days.
