Magic happens when you cook brownies in an air fryer — they turn out perfectly crispy on the outside with a moist, dense texture on the inside. Yum! Plus, these brownies have fiber from the oat flour, antioxidants from the cacao powder, omega-3 fatty acids from the flax meal, and are oil-free!

Ingredients
Dry ingredients
½cuporganic oat flour
¼cupcacao or cocoa powder (Fair or Direct Trade)
1tbspflax meal (freshly ground)
¼tspsalt (optional)
Wet ingredients
¼cupplant-based milk (unsweetened)
¼cupripe banana (mashed)
1tbsptahini (or almond butter)
¼cupmaple syrup (or date paste, link in Chef’s Notes)
1tspvanilla extract
Add-Ins
⅓cupdark chocolate chips (vegan, Fair or Direct Trade)
2tbspwalnuts (optional, chopped)
Directions

Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Set aside.

Add the wet ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Alternatively, mix together in a medium bowl until smooth.

Transfer the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until blended into a brownie batter consistency.

Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.

Transfer the batter to two 4-inch parchment-lined ramekins.

Bake in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. If your air fryer can only fit one at a time then you’ll need to cook these in two batches.
Chef's Notes
Substitutions In place of oat flour, use whole wheat or almond flour.
Try chia seeds in place of flax meal.
Use unsweetened organic applesauce in place of banana.
Instead of walnuts, use pecans, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts or other nuts of your choice.
Oven directions Making this in the oven instead of an Air Fryer? Follow the directions above but instead of the Air Fryer, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and bake for 30–35 minutes.
Sugar-free Use date paste in place of maple syrup.
