Summary

This might be the world's most nutritious jam with its high fiber, phytonutrient and mineral content! Pears, strawberries, and chia all pack a ton of fiber, while strawberries contain phytonutrients that have been shown to help with skin, brain, and heart health. And chia seeds bring bone-supporting minerals like magnesium, calcium, iron, and phosphorus. Share this with friends and family and let them know that your homemade jam is not only delicious but also good for their health!

Strawberry Pear Jam

Ingredients

 2 cups organic strawberries (frozen)
 1 cup pear (chopped)
2 tbsp maple syrup (or date paste, link in Chef’s Notes)
2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
 3 tbsp chia seeds

Directions

1

Heat the strawberries and pears on medium in a small stovetop saucepan until they start to soften (about 7 minutes). Once soft (and somewhat mushy), remove from heat.

2

Add the reduced berries and pears, maple syrup, lemon juice, and chia seeds to a food processor and blend until mostly smooth (some small chunks of berries and pear are great unless you love it super smooth).

3

Let sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until ready to use.

Chef's Notes

Substitutions
Try other frozen berries, like raspberries, blueberries or a combination of berries.

For the pear, I used Anjou, but any pear that is ripe should work.

Sugar-free
In place of maple syrup, use date paste.

Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
